CRISTIANO RONALDO PLEADS GUILTY TO TAX FRAUD

Cristiano Ronaldo has just pleaded guilty in Spain for tax fraud and received a two-year suspended sentence. The sentence has been suspended by payment of 360 000 Euro. The Juventus FC forward player, who was facing charges from his years at Real Madrid FC, was in court for about one hour and signed an agreement which will cost him nearly 19 million euro in fines. Ronaldo arrived at court in a black minivan and was wearing a black sports coat and black trousers. CR7 made the deal to plead guilty with Spain's state prosecutor and tax authorities last year. In Spain, a judge is in position to suspend sentences for two years or less for first-time offenders. In year 2017, a state prosecutor charged Cristiano Ronaldo of 4 counts of tax fraud from 2011-2014 worth 15 million euro. Ronaldo was accused of having used shell offshore companies outside Spain to occult income done from image rights. President of Portugal, Dr.Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is awaiting a final version on the decision of the Spanish authorities regarding a sentence against Cristiano Ronaldo for tax fraud in order to decide whether or not to withdraw the footballer's distinctions he was awarded by former President Dr.Aníbal Cavaco Silva and by the current President , in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
